Marbobroad 16%
Composition:
Each 1 ml
contains Marbofloxacin 160 mg. Properties:
Marbofloxacin
is a synthetic bactericidal antimicrobial belonging to fluoroquinolones group which acts by inhibition of DNA gyrase.
(is an essential bacterial
enzyme important for bacterial DNA transitions)
Fluoroquinolones
are associated with a post –antibiotic effect in number of bacteria principally gram- negative (eg.
Escherichia coli, klebsiella pneumoniae, pseudomonas aeruginosa).
The
fluoroquinolones are active against wide range of gram-negative and a number of gram positive anaerobes. They
are highly effective against all intestinal
bacterial pathogens .
Quinolone also
have significant efficacy against Mycoplasma (lack of cell
wall so resist antibiotics works by
damaging bacterial cell wall) and
chlamydia spp obligate anaerobes tend to be resist against quinolones as
are most enterococcal group D streptococcal spp (S faecalis and S faecium ).
